- Check that the name of the pest is correct and current, this is especially important with disease articles. Edit for typos and clarity.
- If regional details are being added to another collaborator's fact sheet, develop the text and add it to the appropriate section using a sub header. Add your name (regional author name) after the recommendation. Contact the other collaborator to review the recommendations
- Orphaned fact sheets are those that have not been updated in three years. Contact the other collaborator to adopt the fact sheet. Add your name to the beginning of the authors line.
- Acknowledge original authors using the following format:
Sue Blodgett, revision
Michael J. Brewer, Frank B. Peairs & Jay D. Donahue, original
OR

OR
Sue Blodgett, Frank B. Peairs revision, (Michael J. Brewer, Frank B. Peairs, Jay D. Donahue original)
- To add a new chapter contact the other collaborator. Investigate overlaps and any redundancy that may result.
2. Sources of pesticide label information
The Crop Data Management System is the label standard for the agricultural industry and offers pesticide news, products, label and MSDS information. Registration for label search is also available for a fee. Select herbicides, fungicides, insecticides, adjuvant, growth regulators, nutrients, attractant/pheromone, rodenticide, feeding stimulant/bait or desiccant/defoliants and filter the search results for crop, pest and other criteria. Use this information to update pesticide recommendations in the High Plains IPM Guide.
